The Watch D.O.G.S. kick-off event for Ysabel Barnett will be held at school on
Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 pm –
***Children are welcome and will watch a movie in the MPR during the adult presentation in the Library.
What is WATCH D.O.G.S.? It stands for "Dads Of Great Students" and is a nationally recognized program with 2 goals: provide positive male role models for students, and provide extra sets of eyes and ears to enhance school security.
What do you do in WATCH D.O.G.S.? It’s easy! A detailed schedule for your day will be provided, and will include: helping in your child’s classroom, eating lunch together, playing games at recess and lunch, and patrolling the school grounds.
What is needed from you? Find 1-2 days on your calendar where you can spend the full day at school.* Come to the kick-off event (bring a photo ID) and learn more about the program, sign-up for specific dates, and purchase a WATCH D.O.G.S. shirt to wear on your volunteer days (cost is $15).
Please don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity – your child will be so proud and excited to have you be part of the real WATCH D.O.G.S.!
*Note that some employers provide paid volunteer days for this program. For more information on WATCH D.O.G.S., go to www.fathers.com/watchdogs or contact David Maggiore-Anet at 951-501-9999.

Dear BES Families,
Welcome to our 3rd annual Un-Fundraiser. Last years event was so successful we have decided to continue this tradition at Barnett. The PTO would like to thank each and every one of our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends at our school. The amount of volunteers, financial and emotional support that we receive is phenomenal! You have shown your commitment to giving your child the best possible education and for that we are thankful.
What is an Un-fundraiser?
Simply put, an Un-fundraiser is a fundraiser where kids don’t have to sell anything, parents don’t have to buy anything, and 100% of your donation goes directly to classroom and school needs. In previous years, if you spent $50 on wrapping paper/gifts, it only raised $20 for Ysabel Barnett. Why not have all our money go to support our children’s education instead?
Benefits of an Un-fundraiser:
How does the Un-fundraiser work?
In order to reach our overall goal, a donation of $30 per student would be needed. We understand that for some this can be a burden on your family so a donation of any amount is greatly appreciated. If you are able to make a larger donation, please consider doing so, as not every family will be able to contribute. You might also consider checking with your employer to see if your donation can be matched through a company gift matching program. Please remember that all donations are tax deductible. Our tax id number is 41-2208029.
With your help we are able to fund all the wonderful activities for the kids throughout the year. Some examples are family movie night, father son campout, mother daughter dance, father daughter dance, mother son bingo and exciting assemblies. Your donations also help us supplement the school's budget for important improvements needed for the school, including advancing technology in our classrooms and library.
If you have not attended a Volunteer Training with Dr. Lane, you have another chance on Tuesday, September 8th from 5:30 - 6:30 in the Library. She will go over everything you need to know to be a volunteer at BES.
Make-Up Picture Day
If you did not take pictures on Picture Day this week, you still have a chance on Monday, September 14th!
